I'm writing a particularly long essay that includes a lot of history. Much of it is interesting and would be for anyone who is into history. Of course, many people will want the quick version.

Is there anything wrong with writing a blog post with like 3,000 words of the long form, and then putting a short paragraph at the end summing the whole thing up? I was thinking at the top of the page I'd add an anchor link to the summary version saying something like "If you want the quick version of this history, hit this link to be taken to the summary" or something similar.
