I'm redesigning am existing website from 2007... it was about time. The site has a lot of unnecessary pages, and even outdated info, so some content was rewritten, some was deleted.

The site was moved, uhm well not moved, the old php site gona be entirely deleted, and new gatsby site is hosted on netlify, where the domain will point soon.

What is good practice in cases like this, from seo perspective? The site is a blog, with relatively small amount of visitors, less than 50 per month, so its not a big deal if the seo will be bad for a bit.

But what is a good process, doing redesign work, regarding seo, and such things, with other, medium sized sites, or with sites that have good rankings locally?

Could you please recommend me sources to read about this, or good, understandable tutorials that are not full of marketing BS, but are written with technical perpective?

Also where can I learn more about redirects and how to use them?
