How to Test Launch a New Website . . . when the web developer refuses?
Six months ago our office hired a company to create a new and improved website. The new website is overdue and over budget aside from that it is "ready" to launch. The web developer wants to launch the new website, but we have asked for a test launch or no index launch on another domain so that we can have it audited before the official launch. He is not willing to do this and states that their customers do not normally ask for a test launch and that the website is being stored on their main server so they cannot give us access to that.
Is there a way that the new website can simply be sent to us in file so that we can test launch it?
So far we have only been given access to it via a visual commenting forum.
Yes, I am a noob and have much to learn. Yes, I agree that we made mistakes along the way, but we are trying to make the best of the situation. : )
Thank you for your suggestions!
