What's worked for me to find seasonal keywords for holiday content
The holidays can be stressful. Targeting the wrong keywords, or going after highly competitive ones could kill your chances of reaching the right audience with your organic strategy. And we don’t want that.
Here's how I research keywords for a successful holiday season:
1: Start by picking a general high-volume keyword like ‘gift ideas.’
- (top-of-the-funnel query people will search when browsing for inspiration)
2: Get the creative juices flowing and think about your customers’ purchase intentions.
- Who’s searching? Who are they shopping for?
3: Think about relevant gift types. Ask yourself, what products do I have that will fill that search query?
- E.g: For shoes, that could be any of the ones that came up in the fashion and apparel industry below, like ‘gift ideas for women’ and ‘gift ideas for mom’.
4: Try new ideas and see if they stick.
- Add some different ones like ‘gift ideas for runners’ to see how they land with Google and your audience?
Did I miss anything?
