Targeting other countries first ?

Hi,

I'm still a beginner and want to launch a blog in a really crowded field (kpop). Using ahrefs I have determined that the ranking difficulty for most related keywords range from hard to super-hard in the US. However, other countries (like Spain or France) have far lower keyword difficulties.

Is it a good plan to optimize content for those countries first, in order to build domain authority, and then target a bigger market (like the US/UK) ?
