When & How Often Should I Submit My Websites Sitemap To GSC?

Hi All,

My website has been ranking reasonably well on Google across all targeted keywords. But we have carried out extensive work on our site during March 2022, including a rebranding, as well as adding multiple new pages and products.

Since doing this, traffic to our site has dropped around 25% and continues to fluctuate up and down.

In light of these changes, would now be the time to resubmit the /sitemap.xml within Google Search Console? I haven't resubmitted it since the website launched over a year ago.

How often is it that website owners update their sitemap or under what circumstances is it necessary? I am finding conflicting info on this.
