SEO Advice Needed - Domain Redirect

Hi, I recently bought the .com domain for my company (current domain is .co).

I would live to move everything from .co to .com and then do a redirect to keep the SEO juice.

However since we rely a lot of our organic traffic I am a bit afraid of making the jump.

Anyone has similar experience with domain redirects? Did you keep your rankings? Did the .com help in the long run?
