How I Helped My Client Generate 10+ Jobs A Month

Now I know many of you are saying 10 jobs a month isn't that many; however, I'd like you consider that 10 jobs for a landscaper is completely different than 10 jobs for a high ticket industry such as roofing or lets say solar panels. But this was a client I had worked with for roughly 6 months on their SEO and prior to working with them they had never marketed their business and really only survived off of word of mouth. This wasn't a problem at the time for them but I really urged the business owner to look into the future more long term and think about what the next 12 months for his business would look like.

After getting him signed I began by internally optimizing his website with everything from title tags, keywords, heading tags, and even local business schema to help Google identify his business and service industry. This is super important as this will lay the base for our SEO work and without you are essentially just building up a website that looks great and will never been seen by anyone in your local area. This process tends to take me out through the first month and you would be surprised how many sites have "SEO experts" work on them and the internal SEO is essentially non-existent.

Next I move into the external SEO which deals with the overall backlink structure of a website. This means going out and using guest post, blog post, and even directories if they are quality enough and will not hurt my clients site. Remember it's always important to prioritize quality over quantity when it comes to backlinks as getting blacklisted by Google is very difficult to undo. This process can take me months as it's always on-going as you'll always have to maintain or find other backlinks. During this time I was also disavow any spammy links I find.

Lastly and one of the most important things that many people leave out is the Google My Business profile or GMB. This is essentially the Google map pack which is one of the best ways for local businesses to get leads as my client gets over 1000+ views a month just on their GMB alone. For this the process can get a little complicated as GMB's tend to have hundreds of little tricks but a majority of this process will be citation building. Citations are slightly different than backlinking but they are a factor when it comes to GMB. It's also important to not that GMB works on slightly different ranking factors than regular SEO.

Now this was a slight overview of my process and I would love to answer any questions you may have. I also what to say that this isn't a cookie cutter process and you'll need to base things on industry and level of competition. For instance, getting backlinks is good but backlinks from non-relevant niches don't help your cause much. You want roofing links from a roofing site, you want plumbing links from a plumbing site, and the same goes for any other industry. I hope this helps some of you and once again I'm open to questions
