Google Search Console making you re-verify ownership?

I just logged into GSC and was asked for the first time in years to verify ownership (I guess with an HTML file).

The message said: oops you don't have access to this property.

I clicked to reverify and it worked.

But I was just wondering if something caused this or if this has happened to anyone else.

I've had the site 5+ years. Never seen this message.
