SEO maximizing by taking down old posts and reuploading them

I have a business website where we sometimes do blog posts to help populate the site and drive traffic to the site. We have a bunch of old posts that are good but SO backlogged (like 10 years old). I'm thinking, can you take down a post and reupload it as new and will this let the SEO know that this is new content and thus push ur wrbsite up?
