My experience with titles with all the chaos going around it right now.

With all the chaos going around titles, I tweaked title and meta description for a client's homepage, and Google picked exactly the same after immediate crawl. For years the homepage's ranking was fluctuating in second half on page 2, after the tweak it ranked on page #1 within 10 days. That was the only change - no new backlinks or posts or no other tweaking / changes to whole of the website.

This is not a one-off case. I had success with titles and meta descriptions tweaks with other sites too. Google picked exactly what I had provided.

I have been advocating this - help Google with right signals and you shall see the difference. Don't lose hope and don't be frustrated, SEO is an art as well as science that requires patience. Try to understand Google Search and SEO better, you will reap benefits.
