Creating an SEO Blog for a Job

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if it makes sense to create a personal blog focused on SEO in order to get a job from a local agency or small business.

I have spent the past year learning about digital marketing and have earned certificates for Google Analytics, Ad Search, a HTML & CSS course from Udemy and a local digital marketing boot camp. I know these don’t mean too much by themselves, so I planned on creating a resume-like blog.

My goal was to showcase my knowledge of SEO through quick load speeds, optimized images, good use of title and heading tags with keywords, and more explicitly through written blogs.

My question is, would it be better to create a blog on a different niche rather than what I previously planned? I know ranking for SEO would be hard, but I was thinking I could specifically target my local area and find success there for small business owners seeking resources/help.
