Stalked by creepy ad-network representative (#MeToo)
I run a reasonably successful website with high traffic which has resulted in me being sent emails very regularly by representatives from ad networks looking to place ads on the site.
I typically ghost/ignore these emails, but there was a rep who has been spamming pretty consistently over a period of time, and I decided to give him the courtesy of a reply, to which he then starts chatting me up the way you would chat up someone at a bar, trying to act all friendly and whatnot.
However, the most disturbing part is that he then starts addressing me by my first name (without permission), meaning he has looked me up as the owner of my website, and starts revealing all sorts of details that he has researched and knows about me (from his stalking of me).
I just find this is just incredibly creepy, as if my personal privacy has been violated by this person looking up my personal information. This is NOT the way to get clients for your ad agency.
