Is phone review a good niche for a beginner at SEO

I'm currently learning SEO and I have been advised to make a website where I can practice what I'm learning

I will be doing the content writing myself. I plan on writing phone reviews as that is what my hobby is and I feel comfortable writing

Should I go ahead making phone review site for SEO or should I should I go for less competitive niches. Any suggestions on less competitive niches will also be helpful
