Does VPS improve Core Web Vitals and should i upgrade to VPS ?
Hi guys,
I'm using a local web hosting. I'm on their best wordpress plan : 14$/month (3GB of RAM and 6GHZ of CPU, they don't mention the number of vcores or cores, SSD, ..).
I use Cloudflare pro, plus, agro. I have intalled WP Fastest Cache (premium).
PageSpeedInsight shows a good index on computers (91-95), but poor speed on mobile (40).
My website gets between 100k-150k visit per month. Some months i get a huge spike (500k visit). The only nightmare i'm facing with them is their SLA. I'm getting serious downtime that takes between 2h to 8 hours litteraly each month (except that day, the rest of the month is pretty fly).
Today, when this happened for 3 hours, i asked their support about the reasons, they told me it's a node crash and they offered me to take my website to their new shared server. I kindly refused since this means alot of work especially on the cloudflare side (updating DNS, propagation..).
Now I'm thinking about getting a VPS with these specs :
The first one :
- 4 GB Ram
- 2 vCores CPU
- 60 Gb Fast NVMe Hard Drive
- 200Mbps Bandwidth
- Unlimited traffic
The second one :
- 8 GB Ram
- 4 vCores CPU
- 80 Gb Fast NVMe Hard Drive
- 200Mbps Bandwidth
- Unlimited traffic
I'm really eager to read your opinion about these specs, is it good ? will it improve my Page Speed Index on mobiles ? Should i really upgrade to VPS or i have to just stay on shared and accept their offer (migration to new server) ?
Thank you very much.
