Schema Markup Question

How important is Schema Markup to SEO? We have a blog on our website which I was considering going back on and marking up every page. Is this a waste of time? Would it be better to just make sure the homepage and about us page are marked up? I've read conflicting information on whether I should markup every page or not. Appreciate the help!
