Local SEO - Skype for Business

Our brick-and-mortar business only needs a simple single phone line so I was thinking of using Skype for Business. I know local SEO depends on (among other things) putting the same contact info into a bunch of directories. I wanted to ask if it's fine to use a VOIP number from Skype for Business from a local SEO perspective.

Also can I claim our GMB listing before I've put the info into all the directories? Or do I need to wait until after? We already have leased the location.
