Yoast update completely f---ed my site

Just updated to latest Yoast version. Huge mistake. All sorts of issues, and then a fatal error if I try to restore back (fortunately I can still access dashboard to deactivate this piece of garbage software).

What's the best, light-weight, no-B.S. SEO plugin these days?

SEO Framework is one that I've heard recommended by hardcore SEO guys who don't want any fluff, and just want a good, lightweight plugin.
