Rough guide on an SEO plan?

Hi guys, I don’t suppose anyone has a very rough guideline on the steps you would go through when working on an SEO overhaul?

I feel I have a pretty good understanding of SEO but just in terms of starting a project and implementing a bit lost.

If anyone has very top level guideline that would be appreciated. I think no need to explain each step, IE like 1) keyword research 2) on page review and analysis 3) backlink strategy review
