How to learn just enough SEO to be dangerous?

I have a very small blog on technology. It is mostly for cloud computing. I have read a lot of articles on SEO, Digital marketing, but all of them looks to be an engineering course on its own. I do not want to do a PhD in these.

I just want to use the bare minimal SEO techniques, which will make my small blog rank for some keyword, and if possible down then line in some year, can generate some passive income.

What are the Blogs, People on twitter or YouTube creator should I follow to become just enough dangerous, I do not wish to be an SEO expert.
