Headlines for anchor text?

Hi all, I have a quick question about anchor text and internal linking:

I have a number of articles which are all part of the same overall topic, but the specific subjects of the articles don't overlap directly. Can I include a bullet point list of all the articles at the end of each one, where the anchor text is just the headline? And repeat that for every article in the series?

Or is it better to include more natural and varied anchor text dotted throughout the articles?

My worry is that the first will be less effective in terms of SEO but the latter will be unnaturally forcing certain keywords into articles where they don't fit.
