Adding Afterpay to your on-page targetting is a great shortcut to start ranking for searches with purchase intent. It's easily deployable.

Our customer in Australia didn't have many links and wanted to compete in a competitive search vertical.

We added Afterpay to our e-commerce website's on-page targeting and moved straight into the #1 position for product + Afterpay related searches.

The optimisations were pretty basic and could be quickly scaled on large sites.

  • Afterpay was inserted into the title, along with other payment methods <title>$productname Afterpay, Klana, Paypal or Credit Card - Buy $productname Online<title>
  • Afterpay has not been used in any of the <h> tags.
  • Afterpay was mentioned in the copy at the start of the product description " Buy sensitive skin hand sanitiser online with Afterpay, Klarna, Paypal or credit card"
  • Afterpay was mentioned again in the long product description "Buy our premium hand sanitiser online with Afterpay, Klarna, Paypal or credit card."

The Australian ccTLD version of Google (Google.com.au) is much easier than some of the other Googles. We were able to rank in less than 30 days with just a couple of links.
