Does being in the "main city" matter compared to the side city next to it? Ex. Miami vs coral gables? A lot more searches in the more popular one.
So this sounds dumb, and I know it is, but for example...
a search for plumbers in Miami might get 500 a month, while coral gables (literally right next door) will usually get a lot fewer because its the lesser known city.
And this applies to every major metro area. But... obviously the plumbers who live a block away and have a coral gables address doesn't mean they can't find success online.
I know city pages and all that are a thing, but have you noticed a significant advantage to having an address in the "primary city" of a metropolitan area? Would it ever be worth considering moving your office a few miles to get all that extra search volume?
Or are city pages enough? And would you ever disregard your own city in favor of the big one next door?
I guess the Google my business favors location so heavily that it just doesn't matter?
