Does PageSpeed Insights use field data?

Having a discussion with a fellow SEO and we are getting conflicting information.

The top four values (LCP, CLS, FID, FCD) have been understood by me to represent field data taken from real users, with everything below being lab (simulated).

But he’s saying that it’s all lab data now.

Is there anyone in the know who can help clear this up?
