Use cases for Automatics posts plugin in WP?

Recently launched a blog in the martial arts niche, worked with a developer to setup the WP theme and some other bits. He added and launched "Automatic" plugin campaigns which basically auto posts articles from other sources (RSS feeds, other blogs). I quickly de-activated it because Im trying to build organic traffic the right way (which is slower of course) - this auto scraping/posting thing seems very spammy and black hat.

My question - is there any way to leverage this Automatic plugin in a legit way? Is there any use for it in actually scaling orginal content? I know you can spin the wording but again that just spits out weird content (looks much worse than Chat GPT AI).

TLDR; Dev added Automatic blog plugin, realized its spammy and deactivated it, want to know if theres any white-hat/"safe" way to use it?
