When is the right time to invest in paid SEO tools?

I'm a beginner at SEO. All of my SEO knowledge comes from blog posts and googling. I am now planning to get some hands on experience by developing my first website.

I have used free SEO tools like Ubersuggest's 7 day trial and Ahrefs free SEO tools.

Should I invest in a paid SEO tool right now? Or should I first practice on free tools by using them to drive traffic to my website. At what stage in your SEO journey did you make the decision to spend money on tools?
