Competition: Ahref's KD vs Ubersuggest SD (Which one should I rely on?)

I'm an SEO noob who is trying to do keyword research for a website idea I have. I am using the Ubersuggest 7-day trial and Ahref's free Keyword tool to do this. ( I want to try a few tools before deciding which one to pay for)

However, Ubersuggest's SD and Ahref's KD differ significantly. For the keyword "Kitchen Design " :

Ahrefs: Search Volume -110K, KD - 31

Ubersuggest - Search Volume - 450K, SD - 60

The country for both searches is India.

As you can see, both search volume and competition level differs significantly between Ahrefs and Ubersuggest.

I googled the reason for this and learned that they use different metrics to calculate competition.

Whose competition rating should I trust? I am finding it hard to make decisions based on my keyword research because of conflicting data. Has anyone else here had trouble with this before? I would really appreciate an answer based not on brand reputation of both tools (though that is welcome too), but on the method of calculating competition.
