I recommended a theme change for a client's website because Lighthouse was showing a performance score of 6/100. After switching to a lighter-weight theme, we've seen most keywords move up several spaces in the SERPs, but performance is still only 21/100.

Unfortunately, our developer is basically saying there isn't much we can do.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Were you able to improve performance/site speed, and did it make a significant impact on organic search? TIA
