There is a single word domain for sale which is a keyword that is very desirable to me.

I realise the days are mostly gone where such a domain was a faster track to ranking, however, I do think that there is 'some' value to it directly and indirectly but here is my issue...

The person selling it wants $2,500 for it, I was thinking about $500.

Before I say no or try to negotiate, am I missing something? (good or bad).

Am I better creating a variant of that domain name and likely to get the same results - for example instead of abcxyz dot com, having abcxyzPro or something similar?
