How To Increase The Lifespan Of Your SEO Clients
Take a second and imagine this.....
You're working with an SEO client for the last 6 months and they've finally started ranking on the first page and even their GMB is in the top three of the map pack. Coffee taste a little better, waking up every morning is a little easier, and life just hits a little different at that point in time. But then you receive the call, "Hey (Insert Name) we've been really grateful for your services but I think since we're ranking number 1 and our GMB is doing so well that we can handle it from here".
It's a heartbreaking blow but at the same time, your contract was only 6 months anyway so you can't be angry or disappointed at the situation. This is the exact scenario I found myself in with one of my roofing clients a few weeks ago, but instead of just letting them go I decided to pitch them on a different idea. The idea was that we would resign another 6-month contract but we would create location pages in order to target all the different cities in the area that they didn't already have a presence in & we would add more back pages to target each individual service. This was just one of my ideas to extend the lifespan of my SEO clients and I thought I would share it with you as many of you may be running into this problem after that 6+ month mark.
Now it's also very possible that your client already does this as they may be a bigger company than the roofing company and if that's the case you may be able to find another avenue to increase customer lifespan. But this is one of the main things I love about SEO is that there is also room to grow and optimize no matter the size of the business or the industry.
