I Didn't Have Any Clients In My First Year Running My SEO Business

I thought this might be a change in pace since it seems everyone on this forum is landing clients weekly, but I've been running my own SEO agency for over 2 years and in my first year I didn't land a single client. Shocker right? Well it's true and it can be massively discouraging see all this success online from people in the same industry as you; however, I want people in this industry to know that there are other people out there just like you who aren't having as much luck or didn't have as much luck their first go around.

For those of you wondering how I kept going, well it's all a numbers game and because of that you have to keep trying. My first year almost all of my work came from networking with other SEO agencies who had outsourced their work to me which I was grateful for, but it can be frustrating seeing other people profiting off your success especially when their clients start to rank. That's just the struggles of the little guy or the person at the bottom of the totem pole. Now the story isn't all sad as I used the results I was generating for those companies to leverage my own business and began using their work as examples for my own business. Today I now have only 3 clients who are all small service businesses but compared to where I was a year ago that's light years ahead, and if you keep working I promise that opportunities will show up. So don't get caught in all these people posting their success stories on here and understand that starting off there will be struggle but it all comes around if you work hard enough.
