CLS & Google Ads - Is it worth?

Many months ago I made a hobby website to provide gaming resources for some games I play and try to learn a bit more about SEO. Throughout this time I experimented with various layouts and finally came to terms with a VERY basic Wordpress layout that scores great on Page Insights. I've seen pretty steady traffic every day and am averaging around 600 unique users daily & 800 page views.

A lot of my traffic is pretty high quality (USA/Can Geos & 80% Desktop with long avg. session times) so I was thinking about adding a Google Ad unit on my side bar and one in the content area of my articles to see if I could generate any passive income (I know it would be quite a small amount). My worry is that an ad unit will drastically effect my CLS and tank my search results (which is where all of my traffic comes from).

So my question is - how important is CLS when it comes to search results? Is it worth implementing ads at this point or would it be best to wait a bit longer, get more backlinks, a stronger domain authority, etc. THEN implement ads?
