What can be done differently for National/Global than local SEO?

Hey guys, I can seem to get an answer to this question on any forum so trying here. I do Local SEO but sometimes people approach me asking if I can get their product or service seen nationally or globally but what's needed aside from what one does for local SEO for a product or service to be seen in the SERP's nationally and/or globally please? Thanks.
