Question about buying an Amazon affiliate website

Say I have a website in the dog food niche. Creating content as we all know is an expensive and laborious process.

Now there is a website on sale in the dog food niche with some really good content.

I can negotiate a good price and buy the website then move the content to my existing dog food niche. I thought I'll redirect the site to my existing site but the backlink looks spammy so I'll just delete the website. This will temporarily solve my content issue. What do you think? Can this cause duplicate content issues? Any other potential issues?
