Question about internal linking and link silos...

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge to offer on the topic of internal linking and linking silos.

So let's say I have [Money Page X], this is a difficult page to build backlinks to as it is only a money page and doesn't contain specific enough content, so we decided to write content around [Money Page X] to hopefully build backlinks, authority and relevance to direct back to the page.

Would the best option here be to soft link the content to the page and have it completely separate i.e. have the content located at:

www(dot)website(dot)com/category/content

And just add a link to the money page, or would it be best to hard lock it in, in the URL structure i.e.

www(dot)website(dot)com/money-page/content

Or even just have the content wholly separate from either category or money page (URL structure-wise) as just:

www(dot)website(dot)com/content

I am not sure which would be best or if this even matters at all but if anyone knows if it has any impact, it would be great to know as I am planning a bit of a restructure of the site internal linking at the moment.
