Hello, everyone! I'm currently working on some citations for a local business. One of the directory websites wants me to paste code into the business's homepage in order for the business's website to appear on the directory listing. The directory website also says they will periodically check for the code and remove our listing if they can't find that code in the future.

This seems shady.

Are they just trying to get backlinks or what?

This seems like a bad idea for just one extra citation from a no-name site, is it?
