Does Google hurt you if your website is down for a long period of time?

Hello,

Long story short, was doing some steady growth then noticed my site speed was getting worse and my growth started to decline. Finally fixed all of the site speed issues and saw small growth, until a few days after I fixed all the issues I had a record amount of users of 600. After that, my hosting had problems and my site was down 37 times throughout the next day anywhere from 1 minute to 30 minutes (was random). The next day I shockingly didn't have any many users, but I attributed that to the site not being accessible for a chunk of the day. However, the day after that (the site got running fine again) I saw even less users than the day before. I'm wondering if this is a pure coincidence or if my site being down affected my rankings?
