Its a bad SEO signal if I own "domain.es" but "domain.com" is owned by another person?

Domain.com is empty at the moment.

If in the future the owner of domain.com wants to develope this website, could this have a negative impact on my site? (same domain but .es)

Its not an EMD, just a brand name I really like and I dont know if its better to keep looking for a domain with a free .com and .es, what do you guys think?
