Basically I need help ranking my website/getting backlinks. Don’t know if I should hire someone or keep trying to do it on my own.

So from doing research on here/google I’ve basically surmised that to rank for “regular” websites realistically you need:

1) to have a specific keyword/keywords as broad keywords will most likely have too much competition

2) optimize your on-page content in terms of length, the keyword appearing in your content, outbound/inbound links, proper h1,h2, etc. Tags, meta tags, etc.

3) page speed (idk how important this is/ if this falls under the previous category)

4) backlinks - basically you need other websites to verify that your website is good by having them link to it

I’m sure I’m missing more but that’s essentially what I’ve been working on so far with my website. The website is a “hire an exotic dancer in [city]” service. (Bachelor parties, birthdays, etc.)

However I am having trouble acquiring backlinks (I literally only have one)

The only thing is that I can’t list it in escort directories or review boards because that’s not the service my company provides. Also I checked out that black hat forum but it mostly focuses on websites that feature x-rated videos.

In terms of acquiring backlinks: there aren’t exactly blogs out there that post about hiring exotic dancers that I could reach out to. The ones that I could find seem to exist solely to advertise their own service. The only other one I did find was theplunge but they did not reply to me when I emailed lol.

I checked the backlinks for my competitors that rank top 1-3 on google but theirs seem really spammy. (Although they have a lot!!!) Except for one or two, one of which i reached out to and that’s where I got my backlink from. The others did not get back to me.

The other thing is that a lot of the backlinks/content of my competitors seems really old. Like a post on a free ad page/forum from 10-20 years ago old. (Literally the whole site is just blocks of text posted by random people)

I am considering hiring an agency/someone that specializes in this kind of stuff to just do it for me but worried I’ll get scammed since they can’t guarantee they’ll help me rank....can they?
