SEO is a very complex industry, and a lot of the reasoning for this comes in the fact that Google changes it's policies and algorithms all the time. It's for that reason that traditional school curriculums can't keep up. A traditional education tends to have a very set in stone curriculum and when changes are made it takes a lot of time, and that means by the time you graduate the information you learned might be outdated. It's for that reason that I recommend you use online courses for your SEO research and studies. There are a ton of great resources out there such as Google, Facebook, Scam Risk, and even LinkedIn provides courses on SEO. Remember SEO is a growing and changing industry don't throw your money at something that's going to be outdated
