Is it okay to use an ampersand in product titles?

I am in the process of reworking my wife's website with keywords in mind, and one of the things we're moving towards is adding the main scent of her products in the product titles.

Most have a single dominant scent, so it's simple. Still, some are a combo, e.g., sage & onion (that's just an example!) -- would 'and' be better than '&' from an SEO perspective, as in, if someone were searching for a 'sage and onion deodorant' would 'sage & onion deodorant' rank as well?

Google was inconclusive on this.
