Protocol for Ancillary Websites
Hi all,
I worked at a marketing agency last year and one of the SEO practices was to distribute supporting websites across different IPs to avoid having any ancillary websites flagged by Google for being connected to the same Webmaster.
Basically if you want to boost site #1, you’d make site #2 and site #3 that both link to site #1 to increase DA. Obviously Google doesn’t want you doing this so if it’s clear that the same Webmaster owns all 3 then the backlinks are discredited.
In order to avoid this: how much effort is overkill?
(Hypothetically) If I was to purchase new laptops and use those only on a Wi-fi source that was unique from the Wi-fi I currently use for my main site and operate sites #2 and #3 from unique laptops connected to unique networks and purchase the domains for these sites from dif domain broker accounts– is there any way Google can still catch on? Anything I’m not thinking of?
Thanks in advance for any tips / pointers on this
