Pretty sure client just bullshitted his way into getting free work

Long story short.

I wrote a story about a news release on the top fastest growing businesses in my clients industry. Which he approved this topic. Since he complained about posts being too general, I specifically named the companies along with their growth strategies for keyword value.

After complaining about his blogs being too general, I made this more specific. Then he complained to my boss that the quality isn’t as good as it used to be. I’m new. So my boss rewrites a blog to make it very general. Here’s the kicker…

Client adds a sentence at the bottom of the new blog saying: curious about who the fastest growing businesses were and what they had in common? Contact me today…

Literally. Pissed. He obviously threw me under the bus to my boss so he could use my work as a lead generator. Fuck him. I was trying SO hard to help him too. Our relationship is now very strained and I am now writing general topics only. He has rejected multiple industry specific pieces related to news after approving them. Pretty sure he’s just taking my shit to use it for a newsletter and complaining that it’s awful so he can get free shit aka new blog posts.

Long story short. Don’t fuck yourself like me. I know my content is kick ass and obviously he does, too. I would have been happy to keep producing quality for him because I wanted to see his business grow. But after throwing me under the bus, fuck that.
