Seeking SEO Certification course

I am fortunate enough to be asked to learn this new world of SEO and develop a new skill set. I sent a proposal asking if they would cover any training courses that lead to certification.

Can you please suggest a beginner certification course or program for SEO that you find is easy to understand and one I can grow with as I develop my skill?

Let me share that I learn much faster and better in groups or in a program and not seeking self-study - I know it will come down to hands which they are prepared to do once I get the basics under-wrap.
