Looking for any advice or input on this.

TLDR: What can you do if a business is appearing in search results for unwanted keywords that is bringing unqualified traffic?

A client I work with, that is an apartment complex, has started getting a lot of unwanted traffic due to unwanted search results. The search terms specifically are: "Felony Friendly Apartments" or "Felon Friendly Apartments". This property is not felony friendly and they don't pass background checks.

I have searched through and audited all that I can and there is nothing on their website that uses the words "felon" or "felony". I can't find any site in the backlinks that have anything to with felony friendly apartments.

The reason they are getting the traffic is when searching for those terms in that local area brings up the Map Pack and they rank at the top of those 3 a lot. So its the map pack and not the organic results bringing them up for these search terms.

What is causing this I am not entirely sure. The things I can think of:

• There is a page on YellowPages showing a list of felony friendly apartments that shows an apartment with the exact same name.
• Keywords like "Pet Friendly" or "Pet Friendly Apartments" is enough trigger it.
• OR (probably the simplest and correct answer) Its just flat out cause of the word "Apartments" almost always brings up the map pack cause its such a location based search and the business ranks well there at times.

Does anyone know why they would be ranking so well for this search term or if there is anything you think I could do help diminish it? We don't really do much SEO work for this company due to what our agreement is but they brought this up to see if we could and I quote "get this removed from Google". I immediately leaned towards no not really, you can't just remove organic search results and their budget for SEO content is basically zero. But I want to know what people better than me think.

I am fairly new to SEO and still learning a lot so if anyone can tell me or teach me anything at all for this I would really appreciate it! Feel free to correct anything I said that was wrong. I learn best that way.
