How to post an infographic for best effect

Hi - I have created my first bespoke infographic for my new site, I just wondered how people did this to get SEO benefit....

- Just post it on a page on its own? (seems wrong)

- Post it alongside a blog or article post? (don't want to detract from the graphic?)

- Something else?

I have never done this before so would greatly welcome opinions from those more experienced.
