Where Are My Women In SEO ?

Heyyyyy everyone, my name is Alana and I'm a female SEO expert. A little bit about myself is that I went to school for Biology; however, I ended up in the SEO industry because I started working at small digital marketing agency as an assistant upon graduation. At first it was just something to do in order to make money post graduation as I struggled to find any jobs outside of the business field as it tends to be hard to find jobs in Biology without a masters degree. I eventually took a deep interest in it as I saw all the possibilities you could have with SEO. Long story short, I met my husband and he also was in the digital marketing industry so we decided that we should start our own SEO business.

Things have been going great and we have a small list of clients (All small businesses in the service industries) who are happy with our work as far as we can tell; however, throughout my time in the SEO industry one thing has always puzzled me and that is the fact that SEO tends to be a male dominated industry. I'm not sure why this is as there isn't any male stereotypes around SEO, but I know there has to be other women out there doing it and maybe I just haven't met very many of them. Regardless if there are any women on the fence about SEO or looking to get into the industry just know that there is a place for you and I hope I can act as a guide or example to show you that there are women in SEO making it happen.
