(Shady) Javascript Redirects from goingpremium.com to external sites
Hi guys. Have a funny question for you SEO experts regarding something that looks like grey/black hat, but I can't really seem to grasp the 'purpose' of this tactic.
Can someone explain me the purpose of a content syndication site like: goingpremium.com?
This site gets indexed with other sites content, and when you click the results in SERP, you get a Javascript redirect back to the original site, where they try to 'steal' the content from.
For example, if I create a site search: site:goingpremium.com +blender then I get a lot of popular Danish retailers websites/pages for blenders. The meta description + title is a direct copy of the actual content from the Danish retailers pages.
When I am clicking the results, I get (JS redirected) to the original page.
Is this some sort of weird 'negative SEO attack'? I can't imagine this actually working, and when I lookup the domain in Ahrefs, I don't see any interesting traction, although I do see a few of interesting page 1 positions, but nothing too crazy. For me it looks like a big waste of time.
Should I be worried, if one of my clients are being "used" by this site, if that makes sense? Technically, they just redirect traffic to my client, and I don't see Google should get confused by this, as goingpremium.com is literally some weird spammy site with no authority...
But why are they doing this? Should we be worried?
Thanks guys!
