I have recently uploaded my website and it was already indexed according to the search console.

Now, I only uploaded it yesterday, so I wouldn't even expect it to appear in any search, but if I'm searching "mykeyword site:mydomain.com", I can find my page.

However, according to ahref, my website isn't ranking in the top 100 for the keyword, despite it being a local search query without a lot of competition.

Is this simply me not understanding how the ranking works ? I am thinking that "site:xyz.com" gives a result, even when Google hasn't updated the search results and my page will appear there within the next few days.
