Ahrefs competitors content

Is it just me or everyone that if I try to look what my competitors are doing with their backlinks and content I only get to see random crap and pbn sites and god knows what but not the real shit. I’ve even ran a bot yesterday through five main keywords top 10 position sites and extracted all urls and contact data of what supposed to be real genuine blog or news sites and guess what - there is pretty much none! Only crap ones. So is ahrefs totally incapable of pulling this data or my case is a specific one here
